Aggression in Dogs Mentorship with Michael Shikashio
Each 8-week mentorship provides mentees with ongoing online chat, video exchanges, documentation, links, and scheduled weekly live chats via video meeting.
Mentees can discuss their own cases or any others, ask questions about application and theory, ask for tips and advice on overcoming specific challenges, and be guided toward even higher levels of professionalism and effectiveness. The mentors are there for the mentees, and offer all help and discussion that each mentee finds useful.
Auditing is also available Auditors may observe and learn about topics under discussion between the mentor and full mentees. Auditors do not attend the weekly live chats, may not introduce their own cases or ask for specific input on their own work. Auditors may participate in ongoing topics and discussions, and their questions will be answered if time allows. Auditing is simply an opportunity to observe and learn from the mentees' and mentors' experiences. Auditor Spots are all 8 CEUs for CCPDT.
Begins September 11, 2017, meets online 8:00 pm Eastern Monday evenings.
The first online meeting is September 11.
Online meetings are for full mentees only.
- Are you currently taking aggression cases or plan to start taking aggression cases?
- Are you having a difficult time finding someone in your area to mentor with that has experience in aggression cases?
- Do you find yourself "second guessing" certain behavior modification protocols you are currently using?
- Are you interested in adding more to your behavior change toolkit for modifying aggressive behaviors?
- Do you want to learn more about maximizing safety for both you and your clients and reducing potential for liability?
I highly recommend this for anyone with an interest in working with reactivity and aggression cases in dog training. Mike is someone who I have long admired as an expert in dog behavior, and issues of aggression. I really appreciate his approach. He shared so much information and encouraged us to think and ask questions. It was very thorough.
While there are many wonderful resources available on managing and modifying aggression in dogs, it can often be difficult to find someone who has experience in aggression cases to bounce ideas off of and offer the personalized attention of a mentorship.
In this eight week mentorship, Mike will be available as your personal mentor for aggression cases.
Each participant receives their own personal chat panel through Schoology, a digital classroom that connects you to Michael where you can upload and share your videos, photos, and cases, and ask any questions you might have regarding aggression in dogs.
Questions regarding behavior modification, client coaching, techniques, tools, protocols, safety/management recommendations, and anything else you wish to discuss about aggression are all welcomed.
Included in this mentorship will be weekly, roundtable style, live group sessions, in a relaxed atmosphere where we will dive deep into the topic of dog aggression, discuss cases, and view video of behavior modification in action!
