About Certified and Associate Certified Consultants
Certified animal behavior consultants have demonstrated knowledge in all six (6) IAABC Core Areas of Competency. Associate Certified animal behavior consultants have demonstrated knowledge in at least three (3) Core Areas of Competency.

Animal Consultant Locator Terms and Conditions
Each of the animal behavior consultants listed in Consultant Locator has been certified by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants ("IAABC") as either a Certified member or a Certified Associate member of IAABC. Certified members are required to demonstrate competency in six Core Areas of Competency including, without limitation, assessment and intervention strategies, consulting skills, knowledge of animal behavior, and species-specific knowledge. Certified Associate members are required to show competence in at least three of the six Core Areas of Competency. IAABC does not examine, determine or warrant the competence of any animal behavior consultant listed in Consultant Locator beyond the certification requirements. Use of this Directory to locate an animal behavior consultant is wholly voluntary and will not result in any liability against IAABC. In no event shall IAABC be liable for damages to any user of this Directory for the voluntary selection of any animal behavior consultant, for the services provided by any animal behavior consultant listed herein, or for any other damages which may occur.
