The IAABC welcomes individuals aged 18 and older, as well as organizations, to join our international community of animal behavior professionals. Whether you're just getting started, currently studying, running a business, or looking to grow your skills, we offer membership options designed to support every stage of your professional journey. Membership is also the first step toward becoming eligible to pursue an IAABC professional credential.

Supporting Members are also eligible to apply for IAABC credentials.

Membership Options
Supporting Membership
Supporting Membership is $100 USD per year and is the most common entry point for individuals beginning or currently working in the field. Members receive full access to IAABC resources, networking opportunities, educational resources, and eligibility to apply for IAABC credentials.
Credentialed Membership
Credentialed Membership is $150 USD per year for professionals who have earned an IAABC credential. This membership includes all Supporting Member benefits, professional recognition, and permission to use IAABC credential designations.
Organizational Membership
Organizational Membership is $275 USD per year and is available to legally operating businesses and nonprofit organizations. Membership includes one Supporting Member, with additional staff eligible to join at a 25% discount. Organizations also receive credentialing discounts and permission to use IAABC organizational branding.
Apply for Organizational Membership
Student Membership
Student Membership is $50 USD per year for individuals currently enrolled in a qualifying academic or trade program related to animal behavior. Proof of enrollment is required. Student Members receive most Supporting Member benefits, excluding voting rights, and must agree to the IAABC Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Membership Assistance Fund
At the IAABC, we believe in the strength of our community. The Membership Assistance Fund was created so members can support one another during times of need. Whether you would like to contribute or are seeking assistance, this fund exists to help us lift each other up.
How It Works
To Donate: Log in to your membership account and select Renew. You can contribute to the Membership Assistance Fund during the renewal process. A suggested donation of $25 USD is provided, though any amount is appreciated.
To Apply: Current IAABC members in good standing who have renewed at least once are eligible to apply. Credentialed members must also be current with continuing education requirements. Applicants must have no ethics complaints or violations on record. This benefit is available once per member. Applications are reviewed individually on a first-come, first-served basis, and the IAABC reserves the right to approve or decline any request.
Equitable Pricing
The IAABC is a global organization, and we recognize that the cost of membership can have a different impact depending on where you live. Our Equitable Pricing Program helps make membership more accessible by adjusting fees based on regional economic conditions, the local animal behavior industry, and the typical earning potential for behavior professionals.
This approach allows members around the world to access the same high-quality education, professional resources, and community while reducing financial barriers whenever possible.

Refund Policy
IAABC offers a 48-hour refund policy under limited circumstances. Please review our Refund & Cancellation Policy before completing your membership application.
